Basil & Board have sold their business to Cascadia Pizza Co., who will be taking over the location at 500 Liberty St. SE Ste. 150, Salem.

The last day of service for Basil & Board will be on October 27th.

This will be the first Oregon location for Cascadia Pizza Co. who opened their first location in Western Washington in 2015 and have since expanded to six locations in Washington and Northern Idaho.

Basil & Board opened up their doors in 2018 to positive fanfare as their location was the first to offer a rooftop space in the Salem community.

Known as a pizzeria and wine café, their menu included charcuterie boards, salads, paninis, Neapolitan pizza, an extensive wine list and a full bar.

Cascadia Pizza Co. also features Neapolitan inspired wood-fired pizza, and their menu also includes salads and wings. They feature Pacific Northwest inspired toppings.

“We’ve put our hearts into creating an experience that would serve Salem well since 2018. It has been an honor to be a part of so many special moments in the lives of our customers as they have dined with us for everything from family dinners, meals with friends, celebrations, showers, birthdays, and even a few very special wedding receptions,” the Basil & Board ownership group said via a press release on their website.” We are confident that the team behind Cascadia Pizza Co. will continue providing a memorable experience for the community.”

The Basil & Board owners are working with Cascadia Pizza Co. owner Trey Reinhard to ensure a successful transition for the staff and community. The goal is to keep the staff in place as they add their own brand, menu and service experience.

Reinhard has family ties in the Salem area and is expecting a grand opening date in mid-November for Cascadia Pizza Co.

“We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our community,” Basil and Board owners said. “It has been an absolute pleasure serving Salem and beyond over the past 6 years. Although we’re sad to close this chapter, owners Brian Kaufman, Conrad Venti, and Matt Swain are focusing on new projects and opportunities to continue serving the Salem community and beyond.”
